© David Crouch is a tennis genius. Plain and simple. But in order to appreciate David's approach to learning and playing you have to understand that "tennis is counter-intuitive." Our family is moving to Naples in the spring and our youngest daughter who is only ten years old is an aspiring player. She's got the goods and we are looking for the best place for Madie to train and the paramount consideration for us was choosing her coach. NBTC is a beautiful facility and David's demeanor impressed us significantly. He met Madie and in a total of 5 hours over three days, he introduced her to a whole new way to play tennis. She was a great player before, beating 14 to 16 year old kids but her game was not consistent and in USTA tournaments she always lost her head and was beat by players who would never beat her in a casual game. Keep in mind, only 5 hours is all it took. We came back north and 20 days later she took a USTA tournament with hardly any effort as she started to practice her new skills. The key was her ability to focus and make smarter decisions which David taught her with clever stories and drills and in a way no one else had ever told her. This is a kid who would normally fall apart and give up in spite of her superior skills. She hung tough for 2 1/2 hours through the finals. Now Madie is composed, stone faced no matter good shot or bad, and patient for the opportunity. As David says, "Tiger Woods is not the best golfer because he has better athletic skills than the other pros, it's because he has trained psychologically from a very young age." In fact, Tiger was one of the first to hire a sports psychologist and other players on the tour soon followed his lead. Think about it, only five hours. Anyone could make this philosophy work for them, no matter their level. This approach is a foundational tool that EVERY ONE needs to learn. David also has the experience and capability to teach the skills required at the tour level and has already done so. But you have to start from the right place. Set aside your intuition and give it a chance. It works and I have seen it happen. Rich Ahrens
© "Traveling solo, I had the best possible time at NBTC: David Crouch is genuinely warm, humorous and, above all, talented. I took David's Super Tennis course on my first trip there and the daily half-day clinics on my second trip a few weeks later. And true to his promise, he raised my tennis skills to a previously unattainable level. Hard work, great fun, and immensely satisfying. As a psychologist, I was particularly impressed with David¹s unique approach to teaching tennis and his philosophy of the game - the "psychology of tennis," and he's dead on. Anxiety is the cause of all our problems! One feels intuitively the logic of his notions, and its precepts are applicable to all levels of talent. Why doesn't every pro teach this material? Of all the lessons I have had, these were the best. I also stayed and took lessons at The Colony on Long Boat Key. Although they are rated #1, I felt their program and pros were most inferior to David¹s in teaching, attitude, and helpfulness, they just ran mindless drills.

© Hello David, Would like to thank you for all the things I learned from you. I started to play 2 days ago and I have played with so much confidence and "less brain cramps" than I used too. Everyone I have played has noticed the difference and how confident my total game is. I have told anyone and everyone that cared to listen about the greatest coach in the world (no flattery) and the reason everyone needs to come for your Tennis camp if they want to improve and better themselves. I will keep you updated on the next tournament I will enter which might be a satellite or challenger ITF tournament next month. Bola
Hello David, I won both the doubles and singles in the ITF tennis tournament. This is the first time playing tennis with my brain instead of power. The good part was beating this guy that I have lost to in 2 previous semi-finals. I creamed him 6-2, 6-1. You should have been there, anyway I could hear you all the time in my head, saying "breathe" "neutralize" "just hit out in front" and every other thing I remembered. I am definitely coming back for refresher courses. I can imagine if I had started with you earlier in life, Federer would be licking his wounds for losing to a Nigerian in the US OPEN finals.

© "Wow! Wow! Wow! David Crouch's system for success on the courts truly works! I attended the super session last week in the hopes I would return with a couple new weapons. I came home with an arsenal. I have played 4 matches since I returned and won each one employing the tactics Dave suggested. He made it just too simple. Why have I been complicating it? Can't wait to book our group again! Thank you sooo much." Patty Lauritzen
Do you miss our motley crew? We sure miss you! Your name has been on our lips NUMEROUS times this week. Every one of us that has played in our league games this week won our matches based upon your principles! It is just incredible. We want the world to know that your knowledge and experience has helped all of us. THANKS AGAIN FOR A GREAT WEEKEND.

© "One word. Results. After I took David Couch's class, my singles game result went from 2 wins and 10 losses to 10 wins and 2 losses. And I am a 5.0 player with full time teaching experience. His instructional concept on mental toughness is worth it. On the spectrum of physical training vs mental training, I would put Naples at the extreme mental training side, vs Saddlebrook at the extreme physical side. If that is what you are looking for, then it will definitely work for you." M.W.
© Dear Dave and staff, when is the book coming out? Frank had a fantastic high school season. He played the #26 player in the state and beat him - Frank is ranked about 68 - so that win was huge. He hasn't won every match he has played - but he hasn't lost any that he shouldn't have and he's won a couple of long shots. As for the few matches he has lost, he knows that it won't be long until he is winning those too. I am looking forward to testing out your program for myself. I joined a 4.0 USTA team and I'll be playing singles. Emily took a couple of games off me using your strategy. Thanks for a great clinic! The Acierno Family Kathryn, Mike, Frank, Emily and baby Klara
© Hi David, I want to thank you for all you did for me. I learned a lot. The thing l liked most in your coaching was when you would talk to me during practice. I liked the words "calm, easy, no big deal and starting over again". When I came back to Germany and started practicing I wished you were standing behind me and talked to me like in our practice matches. In this time when I practice here I try not to talk in German but just say "brainless"!!!! It's not easy for me because I have always been taught to crush the ball. See you soon, Thank you!!!

© Dear David, About 2 1/2 years ago, a group of girls from Orlando (5 of us) came to Naples for a 4-day tennis clinic with you. Using your coaching we have advanced from level C to level A in just 3 years! I can't begin to tell you how many times we have used your methods when we are playing in matches, and helping out new players. Just this week, Christy (one of the girls who came to Naples with us) and I were playing in a match, starting to lose the match, and both decided we needed to "GO BACK TO THE TENNIS BUNNY HILL!!!" It's an expression we learned from you, and use it at every match. As well, one of us is always saying, "Crazy" or "Lazy" when we make unforced errors. When tennis players ask us what was so good about your program, we always tell them that you made smarter players out of us, by not only teaching us how to improve our skills, but how to be a better "thinker." My husband and I went to the Bolleterri tennis camp about a year after I visited you, and I still tell other players that your program was so much better. Bolleterri only worked on skill-building concepts, wherein you spent an equal amount of time on the mental aspects of the game. I look forward to getting there soon for a refresher course! Sincerely, Cathy Forbeck Orlando, Florida
© Dear Dave and Staff, I just wanted to tell you that last year after our visit in April your mind training helped us a lot. 7 people attended the academy from our team of 9. Our seniors team clobbered everyone in our flight and when we went to sectionals we won all 6 of our team matches ( New England) (winning 15 of 18 individual matches.) As New England Sectional Champs we went to Arizona in Oct.for Nationals!! What an adventure! Going into our 3rd round, we had not dropped a match (6-0) We only needed to win one match to get to semis, but sadly there was more than tennis going on. But we learned a great deal and met some wonderful people out there. We finished in a tie for fifth place nationally! All along the way we were always saying your "Crouchisms' as we called them. Most of the people at our club are so puzzled as we whisper ' thank-you David Crouch" or just "David Crouch!",as WE all know what we're talking about. We still need to learn more. We're coming back! Thanks Again and good luck in your new digs! Barbara DiSchino
© I loved it! David's philosophy is deep, thoughtful, clear and simple. I already feel more confident as a player. David has two essential qualities of a great teacher or coach: no bullshit (he tells you the truth about the why and what of the mistakes you're making) and he has a positive attitude, which builds confidence. He is by far the best coach / pro I've ever encountered, and his philosophy makes complete sense. He shows you what to do and then makes sure you do it. He dispenses with a lot of unnecessary theory and gets down to basics, with the goal of winning points, games, sets, matches! I will always remember his calm, quiet, steady voice coaching me through every point in one of his exercises. It raised my confidence level several notches, and winning more matches was the true test! Elizabeth Diggs
© "Ann and I have been to several tennis instruction facilities over the last fifteen years, and we both think that David Crouch's Academy at the Naples Bath and Tennis Club was the best. We went to Bollitieri's Academy in Bradenton, and when Bollitieri operated a camp in Farmington, Connecticut, we went there twice. We have also been to the Colony on LongBoat Key twice, and once to a tennis resort on Sannibel. Bollitieri had great tennis players as teachers, but its system was too complicated for easy memory, and its drills were a pain. The Colony had good teachers but it didn't offer an attractive program or system. The Sannibel instructors were just bad. David Crouch offers a provocative, but totally sensible, approach, which we believe works for people at all levels. He teaches with persuasiveness, excellent illustration by analogy, interesting video taping and commentary, good drills, good pacing, and very good humor. He has some particularly good slogans or tags or phrases that he has obviously refined over the years and seen the value of over the years. We have just returned from his Super Session and so have yet to see how his ideas play out in our games with our friends, but right now we believe that if we follow his advice there's no way we aren't going to improve. Bollitieri offers the glamor of a place that has bred superstar tennis players. The Colony is beautiful, and Sanibel is too. But for tennis instruction, we think David Crouch can't be beat. We both hope we will be going back. His Academy will be our first choice for future continued instruction. James Raimes
© "David Crouch, Director of NBTC Tennis Academy was the BEST thing that ever happened to my tennis game. Not only did he work 'the game', he worked the mind. He guaranteed improvement and it happened. He is able to analyze each individuals needs-mine happened to be the 'mental aspect' and worked each individual to their optimum. After a wonderful tennis learning experience with friends, after arriving home on a complete high, my husbands went to the academy with David and gives total credit to him also." M.R.
© "My husband I enrolled in David Crouch¹s Program and the tennis instruction we received greatly exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed David¹s laid-back humor and benefited greatly from his very effective and logical approach to tennis. Utilizing his unique system, one does not have to be a well-muscled six footer to have great ground stokes and an effective net game. Both our games continue to improve as my husband and I practice the techniques that David taught us. We have recommended his academy to all our tennis friends and we will definitely be back for more instruction!" Lois Zur
© "My children and I have been involved in the game of tennis for many years, and have yet to find anyone who understands the game the way that David Crouch at the NBTC Tennis Academy does. Brad Gilbert's book is good, but David's method is even better! Although Gilbert's book and David's program have many similarities, David goes beyond that approach by providing simple tools that solve complex problems, which ultimately leads to incredible results! If you can't get Brad Gilbert as your coach, you might want to try getting David Crouch At the Naples Bath and Tennis Club. You'll be glad you did!" Deb Meyers.
© "My experience at David Crouch's program was a bit different because I was there in late August and there was no academy in progress. Instead, David suggested a private, shortened version of the program. Over three days, we worked one-on-one. Although I've not attended any tennis camps before, I have had many lessons with pros from both New York and Florida. David's approach to tennis is completely different in that he approaches tennis with intelligence instead of physical ability. If you understand the physics of the game, you simply play better. At first, it is difficult to grasp because you've always been told to give 100% and this was more about SMART tennis. David is definitely smart. I have been working on his philosophy in my game for the last four weeks and have noticed considerable improvement. He taught me to slow down and surprisingly, you get to the ball faster. He keeps the technical info real simple as to allow your brain room to function during play. If you're looking to truly improve your game, and listen to something new, this is the place. Mary James
© "Dave Crouch was excellent. The tennis levels were varied and even though both my husband and I were a higher level than the other players we enjoyed it and learned so much. It doesn't matter whether you are a 3.0 or a pro you can still learn how to play sensible tennis. Technical instruction was great; the drills were very good and made you realize that you can't just go hitting the ball like the pro's do if you're not a pro. I came from the Academy knowing much more than I did before. Everything we were taught made sense and when put into practice made even more sense. I even watch tennis on TV now very differently and can see even the pros using some of the techniques. This Academy is not for people who think that hitting 1000 balls is going to improve your game, this is for people who are prepared to listen to good sensible advice, accept your level and work up from there. it is definitely a place that can improve your game and help you win matches you couldn't have won before but not because you can now hit a forehand like Roger Federer but because by now using your brain you can implement all you have been taught by Dave Crouch. He is definitely the best." Danuta Orion.
© "The four day Academy Super Session with David Crouch was outstanding! The instruction, philosophy, and visualization tools were highly effective and generated immediate results." D.R.
© Dave, Just received my March issue of Tennis Magazine. Congratulations on the great review!--and well deserved, I might add!!! I attended your Academy back in December and can't begin to tell you how much I learned (and thoroughly enjoyed in the process.) Hope to participate in your Academy again soon. Candy P.S. Now whenever I make an unforced error I hear, "Was that a hard shot? S L O W down. Breathe. Ballerina. ... and it's working!!! I have been playing tennis for about 20 years with a NTRP rating beginning at 3.5 and now I'm playing at 5.0. Throughout this time, I have attended several tennis camps. NONE compare to David Crouch's Tennis Academy. With his emphasis on the mental aspects, as well as physical, I am now playing much smarter tennis and winning more matches than ever before! I definitely plan to return soon! Candice Coen
© "I can't say enough good things about David Crouch. Incredible to be able to do less and play better. A must academy for anyone who wants to play better tennis. We are already planning our next years tennis trip and it will be back to Crouch's academy. Can't wait until his book comes out. This academy will make you look at the game of tennis in a whole new way! Slow Down You Move To Fast! Thanks David Crouch!" T.R.
© "Loved the Academy! It wasn't too much of a challenge physically (which I appreciated) but mentally, WOW! The way I approach the game, from a mental standpoint... well, I've been reprogrammed - and I haven't lost a match since I returned."

© "I attended the David Crouch Tennis Adult Academy in March. David Crouch has the unique ability to break the sport and methods of playing to its fundamentals and to communicate these fundamental principles to players in such a way that the player easily remembers what to do. After attending his camp I quickly sum up a situation by recalling the metaphor that David used to describe the situation. The camp is too short to completely reform a player, but I came away with the a ton of tools I need to improve. I look forward to playing more competitively." K.S.
© David - #13 in the world isn¹t such an unlucky number, good job! Sounds like the program is doing well. I¹m playing the best tennis I have yet. I took my first set off of Phyllis a couple months ago, and now she won¹t play with me anymore. I lost to Todd G in a small tournament in Aspen this summer, but the second set (when I wasn¹t playing crazy or lazy like the first set) was 6-4, and I had my chances to break him. She ended up winning the 5.0. I¹m shortening and simplifying the strokes and remembering things like "butt shot" "if you don¹t swing you won't miss" and "viva Las Vegas!"Have a great holiday season. I hope to get down there and see you again soon.

© "I just finished a 4 day Tennis Academy at Naples Bath and Tennis. It is remarkable how much David Crouch can drill into your head in just 4 days. His methods are different, but they work! He just teaches you to play a smarter, more efficient game all around. This is the 2nd year I have taken the 4 day Academy, and it just gets better every year. If you can get to Naples, David Crouch is the guy to call!" C.M.
© "I've been a competitive alpine ski racer for a number of years and what I have learned through this experience is just how important the mental side of any competition really is. I was thrilled, therefore, when I went out on the court to work with David Crouch and he helped to get me in the right mind set. To strategize, to relax and to make everything seem very logical. At the end of this past summer when I entered our club championships, I came up against a player that was at a level two times that of my own. I managed to get five games off of her in an 8 game pro set and made her very flustered in the process. Everyone was very complimentary of my game and my cool. Thank you, David!"
Heather Black
© "David's approach makes so much sense. Rather than practicing doing the wrong thing by hitting a zillion balls as at other tennis camps, David makes you consider why you hit the ball a certain way. Better to hit fewer balls and learn how to coach yourself, so the results can last ! Thank you David for a wonderful learning experience." ‹R.T.
© I'd had my share of lessons and clinics. I played my first 4.5 tournaments and lost in the first round. Frustrated because I felt I was not improving my game I went looking for help. Then I met David Crouch at the Naples Bath & Tennis Club. Eight hours, that¹s what David said. ³You give me eight hours of your time, and I¹ll make a different player out of you". Turns out he was right! I thought I knew a lot about tennis, but after 8 hours with David, I discovered I didn¹t know as much as I thought! He totally changed the way I looked at the game of tennis. David actually took my quickness, and got me to slow down and now it seems like I have all day to hit the ball. My backhand was weak, if not non-existent. Within 2 hours he had me hitting Guga like backhands! He exposed things that I thought were weapons that turned out to be me mastering the art of doing the wrong thing and sometimes getting away with it. I guess I could go on and on about my weaknesses, and how David discovered them and worked to correct them, but the real proof is on the court. I¹m a better player now, and with the techniques he has taught me, I believe that my game will advance much more rapidly. My suggestion, Give David 8 hours, and he will make a believer and a player out of you too! Gary Pate

© "To make this short and (very) sweet: I attended the Super Session in mid-January and am already seeing substantial improvements in my game (today is Feb 2). And my serve! Wow! I now know what Dave already knew: his system REALLY works. I'm already planning a return visit. Do it! It works!" Jennie Owens
© "I recently attended the academy. I informed the director, David Crouch, that it was my desire to become a singles player for my U.S.T.A. team--the only problem being that I was not a singles player and had never won at singles. David informed me that after completing his 20-hour course, I was guaranteed to win. David had definite theories about the game of tennis--both mentally and physically, which made perfect sense. After completing the course, I went home and tested the theories. I chose four of the best 3.5 players in our league and challenged them to a game of singles. I won every time, feeling very confident and relaxed. Needless to say, instead of playing 3.5 singles for my team this year, I have now formed a new 4.0 team and plan to take the challenge a little further. Good luck to me!!!" A.C.
© "I was very impressed with the quality of instruction and the staff. The program has made me realize how to improve my game and also to enjoy the game. I had very full days of instruction and time to play additional tennis. This is the best camp, what they teach works. It is just that simple."‹Jim Farber
I brought David to my home town to teach his program to a group of players that ranged from 3.5 to Iowa college players. It was a huge success, everyone greatly benefited from the experience.

© "I have just returned from beautiful, sunny Naples where I attended David Crouch's 4 day adult tennis academy. I had in the past taken classes at Sea Pines Racquet Club and very recently an ATP tennis at Club Med's Paradise Island village. David's program is unique. He tells you that you will learn 'mental tennis' and guaranties that you will start winning matches. I already played one since my return...and I won so easily. As you are listening to David you might start regretting the money spent on all your other pros." J.H.
© Dear Dave-- Just wanted to thank you for a fun and informative tennis camp this weekend. We had a great time in camp and in Naples, and the majority of our group felt this was the best camp/tennis weekend they had ever experienced! All the best.

© David, Sue and I are planning on coming back next year and we might bring more "fun" players with us! Honestly, our pro said he can see a difference in our game since we were there...I'm closing in better (much more controlled and purposeful), my ground strokes are much improved, and Sue's classic strokes are more consistent and she's setting me up at the net beautifully! What fun! We've also reduced the volley swinging! (Imagine, after seeing it on tape-ouch!) We won the pivotal match in our team match last week, so we're smiling! And this is only the beginning! (I'd better be careful, you'll expect too much next year!) Glad you're using the crayons...we couldn't resist! 'Have a great one and we'll see you next year!

© Thanks for the outstanding coaching and instruction during the recent tennis camp which my son William and I attended last week. We both had a great time and learned an immeasurable amount. In fact, I¹ve already used your teaching to play better tennis. I hope to be able to send William back your way for some additional coaching and help. If there are any other times or parts of the year coming up or during which you think would be especially beneficial for him, particularly when there are other similarly skilled juniors around to play and practice, please yell my way. I know that he would be overjoyed to return if I can swing the arrangements. Continued good luck with the program. I¹ll send in a great review to the tennis camp website passing along our excellent experience. Steve Peak
© "Adult Academy was superb. Clear, logical instructions that have definitely improved my game. I will play more relaxed and focused, with much more intelligent shot selection from now on."

© "Myself, my wife, and our 15 year old daughter attended the NBTC Adult Academy the last week in December and 1-2 January. Our experience was very rewarding. David Crouch and his very able staff present a very unique approach to teaching tennis. This approach is a combination of both the mental and physical mechanics of the game. Our family found the instruction to be inspirational. I use the word carefully and with intention. David's approach is based on the player understanding how court movement and stroke selection is controlled by the player's emotions. Play calm and efficient and the results will be manifest. David's teaching quickly illuminated that the weakness in our tennis was not due to a lack of athleticism or physical prowess but rather our inability to play smart and control our emotional intensity. I would recommend David's approach and the NBTC Adult Academy to anyone who is serious about improving the level of their tennis. Each practice session during the four days of instruction reinforce David's basic teaching tenets. By the end of the fourth day our family found that our strokes and shot selection had improved and, most importantly, we understood why we were playing smarter and more efficient tennis." Lari Anderson.
© "My wife Gayle and I recently finished our second visit to NBTC and Dave Crouch's unique approach to tennis. He was amazed and genuinely satisfied that we had improved so much in one year, hitting the ball calmly and generating long rallies. Since we were already familiar with Dave's system, he and his new assistant coach Eric put us thru an accelerated 4-day program of drills and videotaping. His constant verbal reinforcement, effective use of analogies and lessons-learned will hopefully bring us to yet another level of tennis proficiency. We look forward to this spring when we can put our newly reinforced skills to the test on the court." A.N.
© "Dave Crouch really helped my game and my husband's game. He gave us new information that improved our error rate. He video taped us and taught differently than other pros in our area. Thanks, Dave." B.S.
© "I spent 4 days with David Crouch 1 on 1. I've attended numerous adult tennis camps and this is one of the tops. Dave takes a somewhat different approach, combining stroke instruction, psychology of your own game and the psychology of your opponent, and strategy. This is a powerful combination. My volley's improved 300%, especially my backhand volley. The basics on the forehand and backhand were classic and simple. I recommend it." C.P.
© "Recently, my wife and I attended David Crouch¹s Adult Tennis Academy. We were extremely satisfied with David¹s program and feel that we are on our way to correcting years of bad habits. It was particularly revealing to see the videotape of our bad habits, such as dropping the head too soon when serving. Dave was very patient and not only worked on the physical aspects of the game but the mental aspects as well. We highly recommend him." J.S.
© "I recently participated in a weekend adult session supervised by David Crouch. It was outstanding. After only two sessions, I was paired with a player two levels above me for and evening match after the teaching session. I played my opponent evenly. Without my sessions with David, I would never have stayed on the court with a player at that level. The NBTC program offers creative fundamentals and a unique approach to playing each point. Crouch teaches a solid mental approach that is easy to apply. The program exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to attending the longer Super Session. Crouch teaches an innovative, but basic, compact approach to the game. The facility is fantastic. This is a place for tennis; not a resort where tennis is an add-on." G.S.
© Just thought I would let you know that the Brighton group all had a great time and we are glad we came to your tennis academy. I¹m sorry to say that I didn¹t win Monday, the day after the tennis academy, however, I was relaxed (and breathing), enjoyed the morning/moment, and was able to make my opponents work for their points ~ AND I was playing with three other ladies that also attended the academy. It was a fun morning and I have had two additional matches since then, which I won both, I feel, because I was the smarter player. Thanks again and I¹m sure you will see some if not all of us again. Barb Malloure
© Played doubles last night and won 6-1,6-7,6-1. Stayed calm even when I lost the tiebreaker in the 2nd set. One double fault the entire match! I think one of the most helpful things you did for me (and there were a lot) was to move me behind the baseline. I seem to have all day to get to the ball and it allows it to drop and me to setup better. Allan
© "I just completed a four day "Super Session" at David Crouch's Academy at the Naples Bath and Tennis Club in Naples Florida. The instruction both on and off the court were excellent. The philosophy of tennis, as taught here, I found just as important and valuable as the on court technical instruction, which was superb. The coaches were very knowledgeable, talented, experienced and able to make me feel comfortable regardless of my ability or lack thereof. I would recommend this tennis academy to anyone wanting to improve their tennis game and also striving to make this sport more enjoyable."

© "Just spent 4 days with my 3.5 tennis team @ NBTC. We loved David's simple approach to the game. If you are looking for stroke clinics, or ball machines, this camp is not for you. If you are ready for smarter tennis with techniques that are easy to apply to all levels, sign up ASAP! Our team is excited for USTA, we can't wait to use our new tennis winning strategies!" K.G.
© "My wife and I both attended David Crouch's adult tennis academy session. Although we didn't get to hit many balls (which was fine by me), we have definitely came away with a much better understanding of the psychological side of the game. I truly believe that we'd be able to beat more players than before. Keep up the good work Dave! As far as the NBTC resort is concerned, we found that our lodging was a little dated but we'd definitely would come back for the academy." D.M.

The technical instruction, drills and general coaching were excellent. Even though we were varied levels I did not feel restricted in anyway. The video analysis was great and I also learned a lot from watching the other player¹s videos too. Dave is willing to help and give you credit where credit is due. I would definitely recommend it to anybody. It was great for me and even better fro my husband."‹ Donna Hall., June 2004 Hi Dave, How are you? Bola and I had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back sometime in the near future. He keeps talking about it and can't wait to get back to Lagos to try the new tactics out on people. Bye for now, Donna. How are you? I hope you are OK after Hurricane Charlie? Bimbo (Bola) is managing to play a few times a week. He played a couple of the young ranked Nigerian national players last weekend and beat them. He said he used all your techniques and people were amazed at how he was playing and especially his serving. Donna Hall
© Hey Dave- Just got your email re: leaving NBTC. Must say, I'm not sad that you're leaving there, I thought the tennis program was vastly superior to the club itself! Now, I've been counting on a refresher course this summer. Thanks, and look forward to seeing you again! Jennie Owens,

© "We just returned from a week at NBTC, incorporating Dave Crouch's tennis academy. As people who began tennis in our mid-50's, we've spent a small fortune on lessons at various clubs, including The Colony several times, trying to develop a semblance of a game. Dave Crouch is by far the best instructor we have ever had. We understand that NBTC has let them go in favor of a "hotshot" pro. I think they have shot themselves in the foot--no one can beat Dave. We'll follow Dave to the next job." J.K.
© "The tennis academy taught by David Crouch was superb and also enjoyable throughout. Every part of my game has improved. The instructors gave me clear ways of thinking about what makes successful and unsuccessful playing. Highly recommended!" W.H.,
© "This was not a fitness test, hours of drills, or even much of a physical challenge. It was four days of outstanding teaching of how to think and play tennis that will serve as a foundation to improve your game." M.B.
© "The David Crouch Tennis Academy camp was exactly what I have been looking for in search of answers to most of my tennis questions. Dave and his staff taught decision making and gave me the stroke solution for each 'problem' situation to reduce (ELIMINATE!) errors. Overall, the session at the Academy tremendously simplified the game, made me more physically efficient, and gave credence to strategies that have elsewhere been ridiculed as something 'other than aggressive'. While I was pleased to find that even as soon as during the camp my 'style' of play changed (for the better, if results matter), the true test of the impact of such a session is what stays with you and becomes internalized. I played doubles the day after returning and found myself conscious of everything revealed at the Academy and executing what I had learned. Two weeks later, I remain conscious of the principles taught, and find myself planning my shots, reacting, and executing in their accord. I've been saying for the last year or more that I didn't need a tennis pro for help, but rather a psychologist. The Academy equipped me with an understanding of tennis that promises the elimination of the mental conflict that has been sabotaging my matches. Does this mean more fun - whether that is in terms of winning or executing shots to the full extent of my abilities (and many times - beyond!) or of just plain not giving away matches? Absolutely!" © "I attended the David Crouch Tennis Adult Academy in March. David Crouch has the unique ability to break the sport and methods of playing to its fundamentals and to communicate these fundamental principles to players in such a way that the player easily remembers what to do. After attending his camp I quickly sum up a situation by recalling the metaphor that David used to describe the situation. The camp is too short to completely reform a player, but I came away with the tools I need to improve. I look forward to playing more competitively." K.S.
© While I don¹t have any experience with other tennis Academy¹s, I have to agree, Dave¹s approach just makes a lot of sense and I am pleased with the results. We should try to get back this year. Perry Cancino
© "I attended David Crouch's Super Session about three weeks ago. He and his staff are great. My game improves by the day, as I implement what I was taught. I'm a 68 year old retired firefighter giving guys a lot younger a run for their money. My confidence level has gone up a bunch. I would recommend his adult academy to everyone." Don Craven
© "As a low-intermediate player, I was growing increasingly frustrated at not being able to win matches where I had the decided advantage and knew that much of my problem was psychological.
And that is why I signed up with David Crouch. With its unique emphasis on the mental aspect of tennis, the 4-day Academy program has taught me how to become a smarter player and better thinker on the court. Since attending the camp, I have increased my win-loss results. Thank you Dave!" S.L.
© I and my son (14 years old tournament junior player) recently (January 2004) attended a four day camp/session at the Naples Bath and Tennis Club run by David Crouch. The coaching and instruction by David and his staff were outstanding and top rate. My son and I had a great time and learned an immeasurable amount. In fact, we've already used the teaching to play better tennis. In particular, the instruction has aided us in better understanding and simplifying the game. I highly recommend Crouch's camp to anyone seriously interested in improving his or her game, particularly the mental side of his/her game. Come with an open mind to listen and learn. The payback is tremendous.

© My wife Carolyn and I just attended your adult three day program while staying at the club Jan 20 thru the 26th. We both want to thank you for the excellent instruction and the fun we had during the sessions. You managed to keep it simple, while giving us some really useful tips and we had fun in the process. Carolyn wants to tell you that she is definitely going to concentrate more on not moving at the net so she'll
have more energy to move at the baseline! Sorry this is not a very technical critique of your program. We just wanted to say thanks for the excellent experience. We definitely look forward to returning next year or maybe sooner for the more in depth tennis program. Have a great year.

© "Spent 5 very pleasant days at NBT in Mar. 5 of us, 3.0/4.0. The setting is typical Florida development...moderate landscaping, trees and ponds. We took David Crouch's camp and it changed our game completely. David is a forceful but engaging personality, and his central message -- win the mental game by staying calm and getting your shots in -- is absolutely essential to developing into a complete player. Out of 5 players, 2 of us loved it, and 2 grudgingly accepted David's message but didn't really "get it" internally -- they need to go back! Actually, we would all go back at some point...although we all came home and won matches that we would have lost, before. The club was a bit quiet; although the pool and lunch cafe were nice enough, they only served dinner 3 nights a week. Driving around the area is nothing special (although Naples is a popular, clean, and well assembled town compared to many Florida settings). Courts were always available, although the tennis staff was occasionally a little distracted. The weather was perfect for a March trip to Florida -- warmer than wherever you're coming from!" T.C.
© "I starting playing tennis a little over a year ago at
the age of 72. After many lessons I was still losing most of my doubles matches. After David Crouch's 4 day learning experience and won matches immediately against opponents that I had never beat before. I had many compliments on my improved game over the next few weeks. David's approach teaches you how to play the game, not just strokes. My strokes improved (and still need more improvement) but what I learned is how, where and when to hit the ball. This was the best experience of my short tennis playing time. I intend to go back to David's program next year to brush up on my skills and measure by progress. Great Job, David!"

© "The Academy is different to any tennis course I've ever experienced. Do not expect detailed advice on stroke production or footwork. Instead, head pro David Crouch emphasizes the fundamentals of the game, focussing on tactical awareness and consistency. You will be encouraged to shorten and simplify your strokes, and make sure you get the ball back every time, no matter how poorly. David illustrates this by playing left-handed. And just by returning every ball back to the middle of the court, he beat me! The setting is beautiful, the weather is excellent and the staff is friendly. You will not regret going." A.F.
© "Four ladies took a clinic with David Crouch. He is an innovative tennis instructor who dissected our games, analyzed our game, and certainly brought our games up a level." K.W.
© "The Academy is located in beautiful, sunny, Naples. Fl. The instructors are top notch, with my own personal experience with the director of tennis, David Crouch. My game jumped up one level after my time with him, and he took a non-existent backhand of mine, and made it a very potent one hand backhand weapon! I highly recommend David and his staff if you want improvement in your game, and a wonderful place to do it!" G.P.
© ³My adult son and I went to the NBTC on the sole purpose of taking David Crouch¹s adult tennis program for 4 days. It is hard to comment on the food because almost everything was under renovation at the time. The tennis, however, was definitely worth the trip and David was a fantastic tennis instructor. His approach is different from that used at other tennis camps we have attended, which includes a number of the big name ones. It was a great experience to learn how to play more relaxed and in control, and at the same time play more competitively than I ever have in the past. I think that anyone at any level of play would benefit from David Crouch's adult academy."‹W.R.
© "I recently attended David Crouch's 3 day Tennis Academy. The experience was way beyond excellent. I have spend many hours studying as well as playing tennis and was very surprised to have my way of thinking "rearranged". So far I've only had the opportunity to test David's method once but I
effortlessly won the match. I plan to repeat the program someday because I enjoyed it so much." N.T.

© "I just finished a 4 day Tennis Academy at Naples Bath and Tennis. It is remarkable how much David Crouch can drill into your head in just 4 days. His methods are somewhat different, but they work! He just teaches you to play a smarter, more efficient game all around. This is the 2nd year I have taken the 4 day Academy, and it just gets better every year. If you can get to Naples, David Crouch is the guy to call!" C.M.
© "I am a 60 yr old player who just picked up a racquet 3 yrs ago and started playing. While I am a good athlete, I never learned the right way to play tennis. That is, until I took the David Crouch Super Session. You will be constantly drilled on -hit out in front, every ball is the first ball, eliminate unforced errors, be calm, less is better, play behind the base line etc. Better yet, you will sit in on your video critique (not a pretty sight) before your day's drills begin. All and all a great experience for the player serious about improvement." A.B.
© "David's approach makes so much sense. Rather than practicing doing the wrong thing by hitting a zillion balls as at other tennis camps, David makes you consider why you hit the ball a certain way. Better to hit fewer balls and learn how to coach yourself, so the results can last ! Thank you David for a wonderful learning experience." R.T.
© "I was very impressed with the quality of instruction and the staff. The program has made me realize how to improve my game and also to enjoy the game. The ratio of players to staff was excellent ( 4 to 1 ). I had very full days of instruction and time to play additional tennis. This is the best camp, what they teach works. It is that simple." © David, I thought I would say hello. Every time I stroke the ball correctly I think of you. The other 90% of the time I merely yell out "brain cramp"!! But, at least I am beginning to understand the problem. Carly will make the varsity tennis team but we (to include her coach) are still struggling with her forehand. Since she uses a two hand grip on her backhand she tends to hit through the ball but she is stubborn and refuses to hit "4 balls" on the forehand. I've told her that if she wants to win at tennis she must play smarter and reduce the risk in her game. Lari

© "The David Crouch Academy I attended was wonderful. This unique camp taught me things that I had never heard anywhere else. Just after 4 days I started playing smarter tennis and the result was well represented in my match play. I would recommend this Academy to anyone who wants to understand the game better and win more matches." Dan Myers
